DAM-2550 A – Digital Selective Remote Microphone Unit

OVERVIEW

The Digital-Selective-Remote-Microphone-Unit DAM-2550 A is a microcontroller-supported, fully digital microphone call station with bidirectional digital transmission of data and audio signals (VoIP), as well as power supply via Ethernet data cable (PoE). The functional assignment of all memory keys of the call station and the optional expansion modules is optional.

There are 10 freely programmable memory keys, a ten-key pad for individual or group calls, two covered ones (Alarm) buttons, a large, easy-to-use talk button, and (+) and (-) function buttons (for changing the sound carrier volume, the sensitivity of the sound carrier input, microphone volume, and characteristics compressor and gate function) are available. Through the extension software license, the station can be monitored in accordance with EN54-16.

The graphic touch screen full-color LCD display with 320 x 240 pixels allows the plain text display and pictograms of all the necessary system information. It also allows viewing of the selected groups and rooms in numerical form and plain text and shows the currently occupied ones when they are called. The full-color display is used to visualize error states.

The DAM-2550 A is equipped with high-performance A/D and D/A converters with 128x oversampling for pristine reproduction of speech and music. The input and output channel gain is from 0 to 59.9 dB or 0 to 63.5 dB adjustable in 0.5 dB increments.

A compressor/gate function (single adjustable), as well as an automatic volume adjustment of the microphone input by means of automatic gain control (AGC) to ensure maximum intelligibility of the announcements, is a built-in feature.

It is also possible to connect an external sound carrier device to the built-in stereo cinch sockets in order to feed a music signal into the PADES®2000 system. Up to 8 digital remote microphone extension modules DAM-2551 A can be connected to a DAM-2550 A plant.

The DAM 2550A units can be connected in series, when it is plugged into the remote microphone ports of DAM 2500A and DPM 2500A controllers using RS 485 protocol.
